Klong Prao Beach offers diners a range of high quality eateries serving authentic Western cuisine from around the world as well as interest Thai and Asian-fusion fare. The Amari resort is arguably Koh Chang’s best accommodation choice, and so has a glut of fantastic eateries of its own.
But there are great Klong Prao Beach restaurant all down Koh Chang’s largest beach, with the fresh seafood here the best that money can buy. Nightlife options here are a little limited, with not a great number of Klong Prao Beach bars to keep night owls busy. But getting to White Sands and around is not too difficult.
Recommended Klong Prao Restaurants
Ka-Ti is a small family-run restaurant in Klong Prao village. By day they offer Thai cooking courses and in the evening they bring their expertise to the production of some of the best Thai food you’ll find anywhere. It is a very popular restaurant with locals and comes highly recommended.
Bam & Tom
This is another small family restaurant in Klong Prao village that whilst looking modest from the outside offers great Thai food at very reasonable prices. They prepare a good Som Tam (spicy papaya salad) if you’re feeling daring.
Emerald Cove’s Italian restaurant in Klong Prao Beach features all the classic Mediterranean dishes that you’d expect. Their home-made pasta dishes are especially recommended.
At Blue Lagoon you can also take Thai cookery lessons in a custom-built waterside kitchen/classroom. In fact they were the island’s first Thai cooking school. As you might imagine they also offer super Thai food at very reasonable prices and the restaurant enjoys a great location looking out to sea over their lagoon.
The Cove Terrace
There is indoor and outdoor seating at this poolside Klong Prao Beach restaurant at Amari Emerald Cove. The menu is a carefully chosen selection of Thai and international dishes. The décor is classy and the service is very good.
This is the Amari’s Thai restaurant and offers a good selection of local dishes prepared and served with great attention to detail. The food is very good if not necessarily any better than Ka-Ti and Blue Lagoon, but this Klong Prao Beach restaurant’s décor and service are excellent.
You’re on an island so you really should try the local seafood and this Klong Prao Beach restaurant is just the place to do it. It has a terrific location on stilts over the lagoon with great views out to see. The seafood is fresh and excellent. They offer free trips down the lagoon in little wooden boats complete with gondoliers to see fireflies and this is a memorable and atmospheric experience.
You can sit on tables and chairs or on mats on the floor, Thai style, at this little restaurant in Klong Prao village. Originally located in White Sand Beach, this place has a good reputation for serving some interesting fusion dishes that you won’t find elsewhere on Koh Chang.
One of Koh Chang’s premier spas and massage schools, Bodiwork now has a waterfront coffee house and café. The coffee is rich and fresh and the views are terrific.
This bakery is located next to the Klong Prao branch of 7-Eleven. They bake all kinds of fresh bread daily as well as serving a variety of snacks, pastries and sandwiches.
This coffee shop is just down the road from the turning to Amari Resort. They have good coffee but what you really should come here for is the cake. Ning makes all kinds of rich and delicious cakes and buns. You won’t find any better on Koh Chang.
