Koh Chang Attractions and Activities

Nobody comes to Koh Chang and gets bored, and anyone found lazing about on the sand all day has chosen to do precisely that. There are plenty of island activities for all ages, with gorgeous temples, fishing villages, mangrove swamps, elephant parks and coral reefs within easy access.

Most hotels on the island have tour desks which can help guests book a wide range of excursions, while it is also easy to rent a car or motorbike and explore by oneself. Koh Chang is not blessed with the best snorkelling right offshore, but boat trips to the nearby islands of Mu Koh Chang National Park offer a breathtaking variety of marine life including sharks, turtles and spectacular coral gardens.

Koh Chang boasts a mountainous interior rich with waterfalls, viewpoints and hiking trails. Exploring this jungle is great fun on an island tour, and many guides have expert knowledge of the different species of flora and fauna that inhabit the different areas of the island.

Koh Chang and its surrounding islands have many beautiful beaches, and there are few better ways of getting a fresh vantage point of these glistening coves than embarking on sailing trips through the archipelago. The east side of the island is covered with thick mangrove with handy wooden walkways for navigating through the dense undergrowth. This is well worth visiting for nature fans with a wide range of wildlife both in the trees and under the water.

And the island has a burgeoning reputation as a party place, with a range of restaurants, bars and discos staying open until the wee hours of the morning.
